The Leadership and Career Development Program is a 13-month fellowship designed to remove barriers and cultivate leaders grounded in integrity and inclusivity by developing skills to navigate change, build supportive relationships, share power, engage communities, communicate with impact, and engage in critical inquiry, self-awareness, and leadership visioning.
LCDP is designed for evolving and established mid-level leaders working in research libraries and archives. Through LCDP, ARL acknowledges that systemic inequities exist in the field and understands the imperative to pursue and advance inclusive and equitable research information environments. LCDP is supported by the LCDP Task Force and LCDP Selection Working Group—both of which are charged by the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
As an ARL Fellowship, the LCDP is implemented with the following considerations (unless noted otherwise):
- all virtual, synchronous content is scheduled between 12:00–5:00 p.m. (ET); all in-person, synchronous content is scheduled based on the local time zone
- all content is presented in English
- all content is designed from and for Canadian and US perspectives
- participation in all program components is expected
Informational Session
ARL is hosting an informational session on Tuesday, May 12, 2:00–3:00 p.m. eastern daylight time, to share more about the LCDP and answer questions. A recording of the session will be posted.
